Diagrammatica (In development 2023-24)

Diagrammatica is a genre defying system for social improvisation. Made up of hundreds of interconnecting structural and pictorial components, an evolving ‘diagram’ is continually constructed live, by rotating teams of community participants. Responding to the slowly shifting tableau as a graphic musical score, guest musicians operate a custom-built hyper-directional sound system, to create a live accompanying soundscape.

Drawing on the visual language of early astral photography, physics diagrams and Constructivist theater, the project offers a compelling playground for the exploration of multiple cosmologies and systems of knowledge.

Diagrammatica will be presented in Australia in 2025
